VESKI (Victorian Endowment for Science, Knowledge and Innovation) is a charitable institution working to enhance Victoria’s intellectual capital through a dynamic program of fellowships, awards, and international networks.
VESKI’s main program is the VESKI Innovation Fellowships, an initiative to return to Victoria successful Australian expatriates with outstanding skills in the fields of science, innovative technology and design.
VESKI is an initiative of the State Government of Victoria, announced by the then Treasurer and Minister for Innovation, John Brumby in 2004.
VESKI’s other programs include awards, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, lectures and boardroom lunches. These activities provide talented Australians and leading researchers with an opportunity to share their work and vision with the local and international community.
“…Melbourne is a sophisticated and interesting city and there is broad interest amongst the informed community in promoting innovation and discovery. It made me realise just how important the work of VESKI is and the enormous benefits which can flow from the simple act of assisting even one person to come home."
