About VESKI
VESKI is supporting outstanding Australians and leading researchers to do great things in their own right and, in turn, help to build an inspired community where innovation, ideas, and business provide benefits for Victoria.
VESKI was officially launched on 10 May 2004 by the Hon John Brumby MP, then Treasurer and Minister for Innovation. VESKI receives annual funding from the State Government of Victoria which it builds upon through strategic partnerships and collaborations with business, academic and philanthropic organisations.
VESKI operates in the areas of science, design and innovative technology and achieves its objective through the following activities:
1. Bringing Leading Researchers to Victoria
Stimulating the sharing of knowledge by bringing successful expatriates and leading researchers to work with organisations and businesses in Victoria.
2. Creating Community Awareness Campaigns
Building creative links between the research/design communities and business;
Encouraging and promoting scientific knowledge and innovation and generally creating greater community awareness of VESKI;
Publishing and sharing information relating to Victoria's knowledge base and innovation through printed and electronic media.
3. Fostering a Culture of Innovators
Communicating and networking with corporations, associations, foundations, institutions, organisations, government and relevant authorities;
Encouraging increased numbers of Victorian postgraduate and undergraduates into business-relevant, knowledge-intensive fields.
4. Establishing and Managing a Support Infrastructure
Administering funds of gifts, donations and bequests;
