The past 7 months have been a busy time as Chairman and Board Director of VESKI. We have announced two new Innovation Fellowships, granted two VESKI Awards in Design and contributed to discussions in and around the National Innovation System. VESKI has been showcasing our existing Fellows to the philanthropic, venture capital and government sectors, demonstrating a return on our investment to the State of Victoria of 15:1. As a Board we are keeping pace with innovation and scientific developments from around the world and broadening our initial focus on biotechnologies towards innovation in human health research as well as tackling important environmental issues. A strategic planning day in March 2008 reviewed VESKI’s growth and success to date and discussed future directions and activities. We hope soon to announce two new VESKI Innovation Fellows for 2009. Invitations to these events will be forthcoming. I am delighted to invite you to read all about VESKI’s activities in this newsletter. Professor Snow Barlow.
