Changes to the veski board of directors

1 August

There have been a number of changes to the veski board of directors over the past few months.

The veski board bid a final farewell to Professor Andrew Holmes AM on 31 May 2014 and formally thanked him for his service to the organisation. Professor Holmes has now officially assumed the role of President of the Australian Academy of Science.

In June, the board also honoured veski board member Mr Lewis Johnson who retired on 30 June 2014. Both Mr Johnson and Professor Holmes will continue their association with veski as veski fellows in an ambassadorial role.

Dr Mark Shackleton has been appointed to the veski board as the veski innovation fellow alumni representative. He was formally appointed and joined the board on 23 July 2014 following the departure of Professor Holmes.

Dr Shackleton's veski innovation fellowship concluded in 2013 and he continues to be based at Peter Mac as a clinician-researcher.

The veski board continues to be comprised of a breadth and depth of people with local and international experience in science, academia, industry, private and public sector management.
