Dr Danielle Burns

Dr Danielle Burns is an Australian and New Zealand registered patent attorney. Danielle prepares and prosecutes patent applications throughout the world; provides patentability, infringement, clearance, and validity opinions; conducts opposition and due diligence work, with a specialty in biopharmaceuticals (including antibodies), diagnostics and agriculture.
Danielle works with a number of local and overseas biotech companies, including SMEs, big pharma and generics as well as academic institutions to protect their intellectual property and help them avoid infringing competitor's intellectual property rights. Danielle completed a BSc (Hons) and a PhD (Immunology) at the University of Melbourne, before working as a postdoctoral scientist at BIO21.

About the program
The inspiring women STEM sidebyside program is an initiative to support women in the STEM industries that is led by veski and Monash University with the support of the British Consulate General Melbourne. This dynamic program is designed to empower women at different career stages with the skills, networks and mindset to develop and achieve their career goals within STEM industries.
