Professor Lloyd Hollenberg, a recipient of the 2013 Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation, has been awarded the 2012 Walter Boas Medal, for his pioneering contributions to the field of quantum science and technology.

The prestigious medal recognises his seminal research work in areas such as quantum computing/device theory and quantum sensing are truly world-leading, as demonstrated by his outstanding publication record in highly prestigious international journals.

Lloyd received his medal on 5 December 2013 when he delivered a seminar on his award-winning research at a Victorian Branch meeting.

The aims of the award are to promote excellence in research in Physics in Australia and to perpetuate the name of Walter Boas.
