Dr Kate Fox

Dr Kate Fox is a biomedical engineer with a focus on the design and development of 3D printed hybrid materials for medical implants. Kate is a senior lecturer at RMIT after spending time as a research fellow at the University of Melbourne (Bionic Eye Project, 2010-14).

Prior to this she worked at UniSA and in private entities. Kate has a PhD (2006) in orthopaedic implant materials (Ian Wark Research Institute, University of South Australia) focused on the development of a hybrid titanium biomaterial (sponsored by Portland Orthopaedics). Kate is an inventor on 3 granted patents and has worked on media-relevant projects with great success.

About the program

The inspiring women STEM sidebyside program is an initiative to support women in the STEM industries that is led by veski and Monash University with the support of the British Consulate General Melbourne. This dynamic program is designed to empower women at different career stages with the skills, networks and mindset to develop and achieve their career goals within STEM industries.
