Inspiration, aspiration and motivation
22 August
The sixth and final event of the inspiring women STEM sidebyside was held on Tuesday, 16 October 2018 and began with the Leading the Way, Stamina and Empowering You streams engaging in a workshop on Mastering Video to Excel your Career delivered by Amanda Selleck, Transdev. Covering the topics - Building your brand using video, Mastering videoing interviews and tips for success and to understand how an interview is conducted within an Assessment Centre (Empowering You stream only).

The evening concluded with a special presentation by emerging STEM leader Krystal De Napoli - discussing her journey into STEM, the difficulties she experienced as an Indigenous and STEM woman and her work in astrophysics and astronomy.
She was followed by an address by Baroness Kate Rock - elaborating on her life in politics and what it took for her to succeed.
After which a keynote presentation was delivered by trailblazer General Manager Anne Belcher - discussing her career pathway and lessons she learned along the way, her role at GSK and GSK's role in developing talent and supporting women leaders.
All this coming together for networking over some refreshments with key STEM industry members and representatives who have supported the program for the past 8-months.

In addition, the founding partners were provided an opportunity by Illumina, financial supporters of the program, to present a bracelet as part of their Illumina Women in Genomics Bracelet Program. The bracelet is an elegant, visible token of appreciation, presented to a woman for a noteworthy contribution in the scientific and/or medical fields, distinguished leadership, and a devotion to mentoring or teaching. This bracelet was presented to Krystal De Napoli as a young and emerging leader in STEM.
