Seedling program - Your transition back to work after a career break

Sue Carter delivers three sessions of her Seedling Program - Your transition back to work after a career break. The sessions were proudly supported by venue partners Ernst & Young and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute.
Participants are provided with a three-week learning program shared with a group of like-minded career transitioners, harnessing the power of Community, Connection and Collaboration.
The Seedling program is delivered through group learning, network building for practical peer-to-peer collaboration and the development of an action plan for implementation with Key Learning Concepts and Takeaways.
Pre-work:
- - Workforce 4.0 Thinking in Action
- - Pre-work survey to establish group baseline of attitudes and feelings toward return to work transition, establishing areas of personal growth.
Workshop content includes:
Session 1:
- - What's your motivation to return to the workforce?
- - What do you value in your work?
- - Your skill audit - what skills, what passion, which role, which sector?
- - What value do you bring to the employment relationship? What's your Employee Lifetime Value (ELTV)?
Session 2:
- - Why do we work? The career stages of our life
- - Deciding if it's time to reinvent your career - and prepare for your next move
- - Navigating your role - hours, contract, pay, child care, co-working, work from home - managing the juggle
- - What type of work for your - part time, job share, full-time, own biz
- - Taking care of you - childcare, you care, family care, couple care
- - Heath & Exercise routines
- - Re-establishing your professional image and working wardrobe
Session 3:
- - Remembering why you started this journey
- - Keeping up the momentum going - find new networks - Meetups, FYA, Personal, Professional, Industry Newsletters
- - Immersing yourself in the new ways of work - Scrum, Agile, Design Thinking
- - Developing your own action plan - what's the end game?
- - Getting real - peer feedback - collective wisdom, shared solutions
