Apply and explain why a visit to a French research institution to facilitate science and technology innovations will mutually benefit Victoria and France. Recipients can receive up to $3,500 to assist with this trip.

Q3. As a Victoria Fellowship applicant, when am I able to travel for my study mission?

It is understood that a successful 2020 Victoria Fellowship recipient’s study mission due to commence in 2021, may be affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Due to the disruption to global travel, the period for approved travel has been extended to allow 2020 Victoria Fellows to travel between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2022.

Q4. How many Referees do I require in support of my application?

Applications require TWO supporting Referees Reports for the submission to be deemed eligible. Referee Reports form an important part of the assessment process. The Referee Report is confidential.

Following the submission of a Victoria Fellowship application, nominated Referees will receive an email ‘Victoria Fellowships in 2020 - Referee Report Requested’ containing a link to an online form.

Q5. What if my nominated Referee is unable to submit a Referee Report?

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure Referee Reports are submitted by the due date in order for the application to be deemed eligible.

Q6. If I am successful, do I have to attend the Awards Ceremony?

Yes. If you are selected as a recipient of a Victoria Fellowship - you are expected to attend the Awards Ceremony.

Updates regarding the Awards Ceremony will be communicated directly to recipients.

Please note for 2020 - No date has yet been set for the Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation and Victoria Fellowships Awards Ceremony; due to the advice provided by the Australian Government’s Department of Health on 9 April 2020, regarding limits on public gatherings to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
