veski ensures Australia represented in new trends

6 February

Funding from veski has supported Sean Godsell and IPH Architects participation in the New Trends in Architecture in Europe and Asia Pacific travelling exhibition which opened in June 2006 in Patras – Greece.

The exhibition is currently in Europe, arriving in Melbourne in June 2007 to be showcased at the RMIT Gallery. During the exhibition's visit to RMIT Gallery, there will be a program of seminars including:

  • Peer Lecture: Representatives from the New Trends Organising Committee will chair a seminar in the Gallery, inviting each participant to describe the propositional basis of their work, and discuss this with an invited audience of local architects and academics.
  • Public Lecture: Storey Hall will also host participants as they lecture to an audience of more than 600 architects, students and supporters of architecture.

veski will faciliate groups of undergraduate architecture students from across Victoria to attend the exhibition and learn first hand of the New Trends from the international participants. The exhibition will then travel onto Perth in August 2007.

It is expected that the exhibition will entice over 7000 visitors.
