Engineering a diverse workplace - a blog piece by Jessica Vovers

On Friday 5 May 2017, veski hosted veski fast smarts - a curated innovation showcase of Melbourne's best and brightest innovators. The program featured nine innovators through a series of rapid-fire presentations powered by PechaKucha in the fields of LivingWorking and Playing from across academia, information technology, industry and the community.

Jessica Vovers was an innovator in the Working category. By day Jess is a PhD candidate in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a focus on sustainable solvents. In her spare time Jess is passionate about diversity in STEM and advocates for this through her work with Science Gallery Melbourne and mentoring with Curious Minds. Jess is also Past President for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE).

To supplement her short presentation at veski fast smarts Jess wrote a blog piece about how to address a lack of diversity in STEM.
