Jessica Loveridge

Mechanical Engineer and Interior Designer
McLaren Automotives (UK)

Jessica Loveridge, mechanical engineer and interior designer at McLaren Automotive (UK) is a female STEM Ambassador who inspires girls through McLaren's school outreach programs and the Formula Student team.

Jessica received a MEng in Mechanical Engineering from University of Liverpool in 2014, and has been with McLaren Automotive (UK) since June 2015 where she is an Interior Design and Project Engineer in McLaren’s bespoke division. In this role she is responsible for contributing to the interior design of a new vehicle that is under development.

In her later years at high school and at university, Jessica was aware of the under-representation of females in the maths and sciences, and in her graduate position with an aerospace engineering firm she was the only female engineer in the office.

This gender imbalance motivated Jessica to take a lead in promoting women and girls in STEM. She is now a STEM ambassador with McLaren Automotive and she regularly presents to high school girls to share her passion for STEM careers. Jessica also supports the Formula Student team to inspire girls.

Jessica visits Australia to promote women in STEM for the launch of the STEM sidebyside program.
