NEW 2018 inspiring women STEM sidebyside program launched

veski & Monash University, with support from the British Consulate General Melbourne launch the inspiring women STEM sidebyside program
On Thursday, 22 March the NEW 2018 inspiring women STEM sidebyside program was officially launched track-side at the Formula 1® 2018 Rolex Australian Grand Prix by Minister Phillip Dalidakis. The breakfast launch, overlooking the pit lane provided a fitting and timely backdrop for a celebration for women in the STEM industries.
Led by MC, Ms Michelle Gallaher the trailblazing STEM women panelists Assoc Prof Kate Hoy, Ms Jessica Loveridge - McLaren STEM Ambassador, Ms Natalie Collard and Ms Michelle Price spoke of their motivation to take a leadership role to inspire women in STEM. Assoc Prof Kate Hoy said “This is an empowering time to be in STEM… change will be inevitable”.
The enthusiasm for women in STEM in the room was so great that #STEMsidebyside was trending throughout the morning with 3,800 tweets by 1.15pm in Twitter.

At the launch the STEMsidebyside program details were unveiled - comprising of three streams designed to support women at different careers stages:
Stamina for Women returning to work
Leading the Way for Mid-career emerging leaders; and
Empowering You for University students
The STEM sidebyside program will include workshops and networking opportunities designed to empower women at different career stages, with the skills, networks and mindset to develop and achieve their career goals within STEM industries.
veski along with the official event partner, Club Melbourne Ambassador Program - in association with the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre will run the program between May and October 2018 - with the first session focusing on networking skills held on Thursday, 31 May 2018.

The McLaren STEM ambassador, Ms Jessica Loveridge, kindly supported by Monash Engineering and Monash Enterprise chatting with Minister Philip Dalidakis, Minsiter for Innovation and the Digital Economy and Ms Julia L Page, veski MD & chief executive officer.
How do individuals get involved?
Candidates for the Stamina - returning to work and Leading the Way - mid-career emerging leaders streams are invited to apply via an online web form for one of just 30 places in each stream. Applications are now open and applications close 2pm EAST 13 April 2018.
