Dr Jessica Holien
Leading the Way participant
Head - Drug Discovery
St Vincent's Institute of Medical Research
Dr Jessica Holien completed her doctoral studies at MIPS using a Medicinal Chemistry approach to drug exploration. Her project was multidisciplinary, consisting of computational modelling, chemical synthesis and biological assays. Since completing a PhD, Jessica has completed postdoctoral work at commercial entities (Biota, CRC CtX) and in academia.
Jessica has been the recipient of a Cure Cancer/Leukaemia Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship and is currently a 5-point Foundation Christine Martin Fellow at St Vincent’s Institute. Her expertise is predominately using computational molecular modelling techniques for drug discovery. She has a particular interest translatable science, having completed Graduate Certificate In Commercialising Research and the Bridge Program.

About the program
The inspiring women STEM sidebyside program is an initiative to support women in the STEM industries that is led by veski and Monash University with the support of the British Consulate General Melbourne. This dynamic program is designed to empower women at different career stages with the skills, networks and mindset to develop and achieve their career goals within STEM industries.
