Astronomy with Radioactivity Discovery Lecture

22 February

veski and Museum Victoria present Professor Donald Clayton's Discovery Lecture Astronomy with Radioactivity - What is it?

Professor Donald Clayton is visiting Australia as an international guest of the Astronomy with Radioactivities VII International Workshop, supported through funds from veski's awards in science program.

Professor Clayton will describe six ways in which radioactivity provides a toll for measuring unique aspects of the evolution of the universe and its components.

Astronomers, astrophysicists and nuclear physicists from around the world are meeting in Victoria to present ways in which radioactivity can be used as a tool for astronomical understanding. To see how this can be done requires discussion of modern astronomy techniques as well as discussion of the basics of radioactive nuclear decay.
