Ninth veski international connections recipient

15 September

Acclaimed US bioengineer, Dr Jonathan Rosen is to be the guest presenter at the 2010 veski international connections program delivering a series of lectures in Melbourne between 27th September and 1st October 2010.

This year, veski's international connections program theme is capturing commercialization and management expertise and encouraging cross-sector integration. This will encompass and focus on enabling Victoria to explicitly leverage its international networks acting as a resource for knowledge, expertise and contracts for local innovators.

Dr. Jonathan Rosen is Special Assistant to the Provost's Office and Senior Research Fellow for Entrepreneurial Studies at Boston University, USA. Dr. Jonathan Rosen has spent most of his extensive professional career developing advanced medical technologies for cardiovascular, neurosurgical, and spinal surgery while working in a number of US teaching hospitals.

As the guest presenter of the veski international connections program Dr Rosen will deliver a week long program focusing on commercialization and management skills.

Dr Rosen says studying entrepreneurial skills side by side with traditional management training will be one of the key discussions for Australia especially with those in the medical technology space.

“The message for Australia, given its size is that any new companies that come out of this space have to be ‘born’ global to be successful”, he says.

Dr Rosen is the 9th recipient of the veski international connections program.
