veski supports 2011 Endeavour Adventure
Endeavour Adventure - Thursday, 27 October 2011
veski is inviting course advisors and students interested in science to take part in the 2011 Endeavour Adventure.
The Endeavour Adventure is an initiative of Endeavour; an annual program of events presented by The Melbourne School of Engineering at The University of Melbourne. Led by a team of engineering students, Endeavour aims to promote engineering excellence, collaboration and innovation to a wide audience.
veski is proud to give school students the opportunity to visit The University of Melbourne’s Parkville campus. They will take part in a range of activities designed to inspire interest in engineering and technology-related fields as a study option and career path.
Adventure is held on the day of Endeavour’s flagship event – The Endeavour Design Expo - which publicly displays the technical projects of more than 300 final-year students of The Melbourne School of Engineering.
The Adventure program is best suited to students in years 10 and 11. Activities will include:
- Tour of Endeavour 2011 Design Expo: Students will have the opportunity to view the projects on display, and interact with final-year engineering students.
- Robotics workshop: Students will also be able to take part in a hands-on robotics workshop, where they will get the chance to program a real Lego robot in one of The Melbourne School of Engineering’s Design Studios!
- “Engineer your Future” seminars: Motivating guest speakers including academics, and students past and present talk about the interesting work they do and why they became an engineer.
Date, time and cost:
Endeavour Adventure will be held on Thursday 27 October, from 9:30am-2:30pm. Lunch will be provided.
This is a free program, proudly supported by Endeavour 2011, veski, and other sponsors.
