New Chair for veski

Professor Snow Barlow is the new veski chair and board director – taking up the position from our founding board director and chair, Professor Alan Trounson.

Professor Barlow took up the position of veski chair on November 26th 2007 adding to a list of directors with extensive local and international experience in science, academia, design, industry, finance and private and public sector management.

The work of veski to identify outstanding expatriates and leading researchers and bring them to Victoria will continue under the new leadership of Professor Snow Barlow – an expert in viticulture, efficient water use, regional innovation and global climate change.

Professor Barlow is a professor of horticulture and viticulture and is currently the Head of School, Agriculture and Food Systems at Melbourne University.

Professor Barlow said about his appointment: “ I am very excited about the opportunity to assist veski to ensure that Melbourne and Victoria remains the centre of innovation in Australia.”
