bridging the funding gap recipients

The veski inspiring women grants – bridging the funding gap, is a pilot program designed and delivered in 2022/2023, to support women in STEM who face systemic barriers to success at a critical point in their career to enable them to continue their research endeavours.

At the veski inspiring women event held on Thursday 11th May 2023, we were delighted to have Ms. Sue-Anne Hunter a proud #Wurundjeri and Ngurai Illum wurrung woman and Yoorrook Justice Commissioner to deliver the Acknowledgement of Country and a keynote address which was a highlight, and we appreciate her inspiring words.

We also extend our thanks to Ms Bronwyn Halfpenny MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Jobs, who was representing the Hon. Ben Carroll MP, Minister for Innovation & Industry, for awarding the veski inspiring women bridging the funding gap grant recipients, assisted by the veski chair, Dr. Leonie Walsh.

The grant has already helped to establish me as a research leader by enabling me not to switch to a teaching role. I can apply for promotion, continue building my program of research, continue attracting staff and supervising students
