2018 veski fast smarts Innovator of the Year
And the 2018 veski fast smart Innovator of the Year is...
With the 2018 Melbourne Knowledge Week drawn to a close, veski reflects on the second ever veski fast smarts and thanks the Panelists, Innovators, audience and supporters for another successful event. Congratulations to St Vincent's Hospital BioFab3D Drs Serena Duchi and Camine Onofrillo as the 2018 veski fast smarts Innovators of the Year.
This curated showcase of 9 of Melbourne's brightest Innovators was held at Deakin Edge at Federation Square on Wednesday 9 May.
With an audience of over 250 people, veski fast smarts has gained a reputation for being a night of inspiration, information and education, with a peppering of entertainment. "A thinking person's game-show" is how one impressed audience member described the night.
Our 9 Innovators rose to the challenge of telling their innovation story using the 20:18 Rapidfire presentation format in the categories of Living, Working and Playing.
Innovations presented include a 'daily doses of biodiversity', unlocking data for improved farming practices, alternative treatments for mental health and inspiring girls to pursue careers in STEM. The evening closed with a medical device helping urology patients.
As leaders in their field, our impressive line up of panelists commented on the Innovators' creativity and ability to think big with cleverness.
Our MC for the evening Husna Pasha, media personality and now restaurateur, reminded the audience about difference, bravery and the value of humour.
Meet the participants:

This event was part of Melbourne Knowledge Week, 7 – 13 May 2018, proudly presented by the City of Melbourne.
